Lacquer vs Wax Potting:
Both are used to seal the wire to avoid microphonic noises and squeals.

Wax potting takes 10 to 15 minutes to allow the wax to completely penetrate the pickup. This eliminates all microphonic noise and squeals.

Lacquer potting is a quick dip to seal the outside of the pickup wires and does not penetrate completely.  This does eliminates most of the microphonic noise and squeals while allowing the wire to remain free inside for a more high-end airy lively tone

Migas Touch is a custom shop pickup maker. We specialize in Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster pickups.

Our vintage 50's Texas Twang pickups are lacquer potted to avoid microphonic noises and squeals, but still remain true to the original tones and characteristics and make them lively with more clarity and bite. The bridge is south up and the neck is north up and is reverse wound to reduce the noise when mixing pickups. Both are Alnico V magnets. We have spent years testing different wire and wire makers and only use the finest quality we have found along with period matching bobbins and push back leads to insure nothing but the best sounding pickups. We use .42 Heavy Formvar wire for the Bridge and .43 Heavy Formvar for the neck for that true Telecaster Twang.

Each hand-wound set is signed, numbered, and dated. 100% Made in the USA.
