Wax Potting a set of Pickups
I use a candle wax melting pot which is basically a crock pot, you want to get the wax between 140 and 150 and then put in your pickups for about 10 minutes. You can watch after 10 minutes to see when the bubbles stop popping up. That means all the air is out and your pickup is completely sealed. Pull them out, wipe the top and bottom with a paper towel and set flat on a plate until the cool down. I know everyone will have their own opinion on Paraffin and Beeswax but I use a blend of about 80% Paraffin and 20% Beeswax. The Paraffin melts easier but in my opinion when cooled down can crack so using the blend of Beeswax which is softer and more flexible wax you avoid that issue. Cool down usually takes about an hour and then you are good to go with installing and playing your newly wax potted pickups.
